The Hong Kong Cricket Association (HKCA) is delighted to announce an upcoming charity Cricket tournament, Sixes for Nepal, to be held on the afternoons of 15 - 16 August 2015 at Kowloon Cricket Club held in partnership with the Cricket Association of Nepal and Operation Breakthrough.
The beneficiaries of the event are UNICEF’s Nepal Appeal and Operation Breakthrough.
The Sixes for Nepal event will feature six teams, competing in the innovative six- a- side Cricket format created by the Hong Kong Cricket Association, across the two - day tournament which will run from 12:15 – 5:30pm both days.
The six tournament teams will feature a spread of star players from the Nepal (TBC) national cricket team and the Hong Kong cricket team, fresh from qualifying for the 2016 World Twenty20 to be held in India this March.
Other players will be drawn from the Hong Kong Dragons, the HKCA’s developmental Chinese cricket team; professional coaches involved with the Hong Kong national team and local league teams and top all -rounders and batsmen participating in the HKCA Premier League.
In 2014, Cricket became the latest sport admitted to the Operation Breakthrough programme. The fledgling programme is flourishing with seven teams comprising approximately 80 youth drawn from non- ethnic Chinese communities in Hong Kong participating in regular competition.
We hope that you will support the HKCA Sixes for Nepal on 15 -16 August at Kowloon Cricket Club, and by extension demonstrate solidarity with Nepal Cricket and create enhanced opportunities for local youth to experience the joys and benefits of Cricket.
Thank you in advance for your generous support to the HKCA Sixes for Nepal.
