Basketball
Last Saturday, Breakthrough Basketball played a friendly match against ESF Tigers, which is basically a team comprising the best Basketball players in all the ESF schools. Before the match the players were given the run down on the Breakthrough spirit of sportsmanship and were reminded what was expected of them. We played 10 minute quarters and going into the final quarter we were about 20 points ahead when our main coach asked me if it was intended to for us to win by a large margin. I informed him that whilst we wanted to win of course,we shouldn't make it by a large margin as we didn't want to demoralise them. We eventually lost 61-60,having run out of time!
The game was played in a good spirit and everyone enjoyed themselves. We look forward to a return match where my coach promises we will win by more than 20 points.
