Rugby Weekly update

This weekend saw a break for the Chinese New Year with many of our boys going back to China to see their families.

The previous weekend we had 42 boys go to watch the very entertaining Highlanders v Racing 92 match, which they really enjoyed. Thanks to everyone who helped buy the tickets.

On the same day there was a passing out parade at the Police College and to my surprise we had yet another rugby boy passing out. He had forgotten to let us know earlier! Below is a photo of him back in 2009 when we toured to KL and also a photo of him as a constable – Well done Wioson Wong. That makes 11 ex-Breakthrough boys from the rugby and 14 in all who have joined the police (I think – the Breakthrough statistician isn’t answering my whatsap). With our one in the Correctional Services and a few boxers who have joined the Fire Services, we are certainly making a mark on the disciplined services. I do like to think that their time in Breakthrough helped in some way, even though it was a few years ago now.

Anyway our first rugby matches in the year on the monkey are next Sunday on 21/2. We have two cracking games for you to choose from:

· At Tin Siu Wai the U14s are in action from 1200-1500 in a Division 3 round robin. There are 4 teams taking part and they will all play one another.

· At Tai Hang Tung the U19 1st XV play Valley Fort, KO 1.30pm.

Kung Hei Fat Choi to you all.
