Rugby Weekly Update

There was lots of action today with some exciting rugby. First up were the U16s against FK/DBP at Tin Siu Wai. In a free flowing game we just lost out 36 -33. Our attack was good, but in defense the lads got too excited and kept forgetting the laws about rucks. The temptation to put their hands on the ball, dive over the top and come in the side proved too much for the boys, many of whom are in their first season, and the penalty count against us proved our undoing.

At Boundary Street, the Ist XV were playing Valley and we lost 52 – 19. The boys were competitive and a few break away tries and the odd missed tackles towards the end when people were getting tired made the score more lopsided than it deserved to be. It was then the turn of the 2ndXV against Tigers 3 and they ran out 40-15 winners. We played well, particularly in the second half when we were more disciplined and gave away much fewer penalties at the breakdown. We had a really big turn out and it was nice to see everyone getting plenty of game time.

Next Sunday 27/11, we have the U16s in action. We are joining with Kowloon Lions to play against a visiting Singapore School. The match is at Tin Siu Wai and kicks off at 10.45am. Then at 1.45pm we have the U19 2nds in action against The TW/TP/CWB/Aberdeen combination team at the Police Club.

Finally looking further ahead we have the Christmas Party on 18 December at the Police Club. All are welcome and if anyone has any suitable items for the lucky draw I would appreciate it if you could get in touch.

Also don’t forget the fundraiser on 30 November, Below is the flyer.
