Operation Breakthrough Runs First Dance Show
Operation Breakthrough runs first dance show, Youth Stage 2018, with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the Hong Kong Playground Association on December 8, 2018 at Lok Fu Place. Apart from the three Breakthrough dance teams, 10 dance teams from non-governmental organisations were invited to perform in the show. Over 100 youngsters enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon.
Sau Mau Oing District Commander Wong Kwong-Hing, Kwun Tong District Commander Chan Kwok-Kee and Tseung Kwan O District Commander Kong Hong-Lai officiated at the opening ceremony. Chairman of Operation Breakthrough Glenn O'Neill appreciated the staunch support of Kowloon East Region and thanked all dancers for their unremitting effort to make the event a success. He also took the opportunity to thank the dancers' families and friends for their trust in Operation Breakthrough, which enabled the dancers to grow up under guidance. He said their families and friends should be proud of the dancers and encourage the dancers to show their best.
Since 2005, over 220 girls have participated in the dance program organised by Operation Breakthrough. Many of them have gone on to greater things, such as graduated from universities or became social workers and dance teachers.
