Breakthrough Running shows support for Run for Oceans

On Saturday, 8th June some 60 Breakthrough participants, including kids, Police Volunteers and social workers from the HKFYGs participated in the Annual Run for Oceans held at West Kowloon Cultural District seaside promenade.

The Run for Oceans is an annual event held worldwide to draw attention to the need for action to stop the polluting of our oceans and the event has been embraced by our key long time partner and supporter, Adidas(HK) Ltd.

The Breakthrough contingent consisted mainly of kids from Breakthrough Running varying in age from 8 years old to 18, supported by some senior athletes in their early 60s.

Braving temperatures in the mid 30s the Breakthrough runners joined a large crowd of caring participants, supported by various local celebrities from the sports and entertainment industries, varying in age and ability to complete a 3Km run in fast and difficult conditions.

After the event there was various entertainment activities aimed at educating the public on the harm we are doing to our oceans through pollution.

As always, the event was extremely well organised And something operation Breakthrough is very happy to participate and support.

Thanks again to Anne TSUI and her team at Adidas(HK) Ltd as well as all the kids, volunteers and helpers from HKFYGs including Pauline, Colman and Cindy.

See you all at November’s Run for Lice event.
